Testing Omaru Creek for - Colour

I am going to find out: What colour the water is.

I am going to test this by: Comparing different  water samples and describing the colour.

Resources and equipment: 1 The culvert

                                            2 The bridge

                                            3 The sea

                                            4 The jar

                                             glass jar

I predict that: Dark brown, dark green, white Cloudy.

I think this because The bridge dark green. The culvert dark brown. The sea cloudy. The tap white.

My conclusion (what I found out):  The seawater is clean. The bridge water. The culvert water is murky and dirty.

Why I think this is:  Because is near the road.

I have been reading Taniwha Trouble by Alan Bagnall. A Taniwha is a Maori creature found in water.

Testing Omaru Creek for - Turbidity

We are  going to find out  Turbidity of Omaru creek.

We are going to test this by Measuring the waters of Omaru creek.

Resources and equipment: The culvert  water.  The bridge water. The sea water. The tap water.

I predict that the bridge water is so dirty that I can only see size 24.

I think this because the plants make it dirty.

My conclusion (what I found out) I found that the bridge has the dirtiest water.

Why I think this is The bridge has the dirtiest water because the plants making it dirty.

Testing Omaru Creek for - Smell

I am going to find out: The smell of the creek water.

I am going to test this by: Get some water from the creek.

Resources and equipment:

1. Jars

2. Bucket with string

3. four different waters

I predict that: The  bridge  - sweet    The culvert  - old   The sea - fresh.

I think this because: I think the seawater is fresh

My conclusion (what I found out):

I found out that the seawater is little bit salty  . And the culvert rotten food.  

Why I think this is;I think that the creek water is mucky

Mandarins

Popping a segment  in my mouth. I bite into the soft sweet flesh.

+ The mandarin is juicy and soft.

+ It taste like orange juice.

+ When I taste the mandarin it was cold.
